Selection and installation checks

The 7014 is an external shunt resistor for the PR devices listed above. Start by identifying the exact converter model and the current measurement arrangement in the equipment documentation. The resistance value, tolerance and connection method must match the intended circuit; a matching enclosure size alone is not enough to establish suitability. Thermal design is also part of the selection. Check the permitted dissipation for the actual mounting arrangement and the manufacturer's heat-sink requirements before commissioning. Use the installation documentation to confirm the wiring, insulation and space required around the component. For a replacement, record the existing part code and the way it is mounted, rather than selecting only by resistance. The solder-terminal connection should be considered when planning assembly and subsequent maintenance.
