Temperature is changing: do you need a fast response or signal damping?
The choice depends on the dynamics of the process.

When monitoring a Pt100 or a J/K thermocouple, PR 3331 from PR electronics offers two converter response options:

• below 30 ms for a fast response, or 300 ms when signal damping is required;
• galvanic isolation between the sensor input and the passive analog current output;
• precalibrated temperature ranges selectable by DIP switches.

The trade-off is between speed and damping. The converter response time is not the response time of the entire measurement: the sensor, installation and processing in the PLC also matter.

In your projects, what justifies signal damping, and when does a fast response become the priority?
