How do you integrate a sensor with a bipolar signal into a PLC that accepts 4…20 mA?
What needs to be clear for the colleague who will check the loop a year from now?
For a position or torque sensor, the sign and measurement range must remain correctly represented in the PLC. Electrical conversion and scaling in the program must be coordinated.

The detachable digital display is an optional accessory.
For direct current (DC) signals, PR 4184 from PR electronics offers:
- configurable conversion, for example from ±1 V DC to 4…20 mA;
- galvanic isolation between the input, output and power supply;
- parameterisation and diagnostics via a detachable local digital display, available as an accessory.
In your team, how do you document the correspondence between the sensor signal and the value in the PLC? What acceptance test do you use to check negative values as well?
